Penfield AtlasThe living map of the human brain.

Penfield Atlas is a living computational atlas of the human brain. Its purpose is to unify neuroscience knowledge (anatomy, connectivity, cell types, receptors, activity) into one explorable spatial system.

Atlas is being built, not finished. Every object it integrates carries provenance and an honest evidence state: measured, derived, inferred, simulated or still unknown.

A map that admits
what it doesn’t know.

Layers of knowledge sit in the same space. Each object shows how it was established, and where the atlas is still uncertain, it says so.

Every object carries provenance: source, dataset, species, modality, confidence and version. Nothing enters the atlas without it.

Everything knows
where it came from.

An atlas entry is not a fact; it is a claim with a history. Every scientific object links back to the evidence that produced it, so the map can be audited, challenged and improved.
